Services

180 Ranch strives to impact lives through the joy of horseback riding while ensuring the safety and well-being of both riders and horses. We offer private, group, and on-site horseback riding lessons in Northwest Arkansas. Read on for details.

Please note: For information about our inclement weather and cancellation policies, view our lesson agreement and liability waiver.

Getting Started

New students at 180 Ranch will take a barn tour, watch a short riding demonstration, and complete a riding assessment for the first lesson. Once the instructor has evaluated the student’s comfort level and abilities, the instructor will develop a lesson plan based on the student and/or parent’s riding goals.

We teach everything from the ground up: grooming, basic horse care and handling, and effective riding technique. In one lesson, students may spend 15-20 minutes grooming and tacking up, 30-40 minutes in the saddle and a few minutes cooling down the horse at the end of the lesson. Our goal is to prepare students to own, ride, and care for their own horse someday, if that’s a goal.

Private Riding Lessons

Private riding lessons are offered for ages 4 and up.

Email info@180ranchnwa.com for private lesson availability.

Group Riding Lessons

Group riding lessons are offered for ages 6 and up. Students are assigned to groups at the discretion of the instructor. New students wishing to join a group must complete a riding assessment first to ensure compatibility within the group.

Intro to Horses Class

This four-week, entry-level course is offered on demand for those interested in learning about horses but not quite ready for consistent lessons. Students learn basic horse care, approaching and leading the horse, parts of the saddle, tacking up, and more. Most of the instruction is on the ground with some riding.

Class meets once a week for two hours. In the fourth and final class, students take a written test and a riding test for the opportunity to earn a Certified Horsemanship Association level 1 certificate of completion.

The next offering of this class with take place in April. Learn more and register.
